Protest Prop 8 This Weekend

Most of the people I know that voted Yes on Prop 8 don't hate gays, they just don't want to include them in the "sanctity of marriage." When making signs, I hope people will focus on the love portion of these rallies as opposed to the "hatred" from opposers. I think that the best way to convince people that gay couples deserve the same rights as straight couples is to show them that love is love regardless of sex, race, religion, etc. A large percentage of prop 8 supporters are afraid of what they don't understand. They were brought up to believe certain things about homosexuality and by calling them hate mongers or bigots you're cementing into their heads just how different and distant homosexuals are from them. That shouldn't be the case. We should be showing them that homosexuals are normal people... They aren't out and about trying to "convert" people or have lots of crazy sex in public places.

Remember that the point of all of this is lift the gay marriage ban, not to show the world how ignorant homophobes can be. Don't fight hate with hate.
